Open-Ended Questions

1. Who is the GOP?

2. Why is there an elephant and what does it represent?

3. How does this relate to what is happeneing in the government?

  1. The elephant represents the republican party, and I think that it does represent how our government works, because the constitution is the base of our government, whether it be federal, state, or local. It establishes the laws of our country.

  2. I believe this cartoon is saying that Obama is trying his best to come up with a compromise that both the Democratic and Republican parties can agree on. That he's bending over backwards trying to get things done. The Elephant in the picture is the republican party. I think the reason it shows Obama pulling on the elephants leg, is because Obama is planning to bring the republican party down with him too. They've created a roadblock to Obamas plans, and i think it represents all of the time it takes for Obama to try to satisfy both parties.
