Political Cartoon

A very hot topic in the political world to day is whether Chris Christie, the Governor of New Jersey will decide to run for president.  He originally stated that he will not run for President, and is now changing his thoughts and said he has not completely rejected the idea.

1. What political party is this cartoon taking a shot at?
2. Who is reading the paper?
3. Why, at the end, does the reader say, "He's Perfect!"

2 comments:

  1. 1. The Republican Party
    2. A republican
3.I guess the cartoon is saying that many republican politicians have these negative characteristics, so republican voters think he would be a good candidate. However, that is a sweeping generalization. Although Christie has now officially said he won’t be running, I think the calls for him to run just show how frustrated republicans are with the current set of candidates. There is no true conservative in the race that they believe will be able to beat Obama. It now seems many republicans are willing to vote for Mitt Romney even though he is not very conservative. I think this is because democrats who are not satisfied with the job Obama is doing may actually vote for him, where as a liberal probably wouldn’t end up voting for someone like Michele Bachmann or Rick Perry.

  2. Just listening to someone who was highlighting Christie's non conservative positions on the environment and immigration. He definitely has a lot of fans though.
